A guitar line is also its place in the band.

For guitar, a useful review asks more than whether the line is audible. We want to listen for pick attack, sustain, and what remains of the part’s role beside bass, drums, and voice. No Prism guitar result is published here.

The goal is musical attention

A useful guitar stem should help a listener follow the part. Total silence everywhere else is not the only question. The attack of a pick, the body of a chord, the decay of an effect, and the relation to the rhythm section can matter more to practice than an apparently empty background.

Listen in three passes

First follow the start of each note: blurred attacks can make rhythm difficult to learn. Then listen to sustain and effects, where vocals or cymbals may remain audible. Finally return to the original mix. That last pass reveals whether the separated line still represents the role the guitar plays in the arrangement.

What we would publish as evidence

A future Prism example should identify the source recording, the exact model build, the requested stem, every gain adjustment, and the unedited output. Soundfield has not published a validated Prism guitar result yet, so the current Labs player remains a listening reference rather than model evidence.
